The girl with sky eyes

The coffee machine still slept, the cups still stacked. Leah almost left, carrying her morning thirst elsewhere.

But the girl’s eyes stopped her — wide, unguarded, impossibly blue. As if two windows had been left open straight into the sky.

Leah turned back before hesitation could silence her.

“You have such beautiful eyes! Blue, right?”

Surprise lit the girl’s face, then a smile - genuine, grateful. And just like that, the moment turned brighter than any caffeine could have given.

Leah walked away without coffee, but with something richer: proof that even the smallest turn of words can open a whole horizon in a stranger’s gaze.
